Pokhara—Tribhuvan Army Club advanced to the semi finals of 17th Aaha Rara Gold Cup Football Tournament. TAC thrashed Himalayan Sherpa Club 3-1 in the 2nd quarter finals held in Pokhara Stadium.
Man of the match Nawayug Shrestha of TAC scored two goals alone and George Prince Karki added another one to steer the Army to the semis. HSC’s Patrick Goha scored opening goal in 27th minute but TAC had to wait minutes to level it. Nawayug scored in 71 and 80th minute and last goal was scored in 90 plus 1 minute by Karki.
Speaking in a post match press conference, HSC manager Bijendra Pudasaini praised the TAC’s game. They played very well, he added. Similarly, TAC’s coach Nabin Neupane said that his boys played better game in 2nd half to make the team victorious. United Sikkim India will take on Three Star Club in third quarter final match on Monday.
