Yeti Airlines aircraft crashes in Pokhara

By Rup Narayan Dhakal : Pokhara—A Yeti Airlines ATR aircraft flying from Kathmandu to Pokhara crashed in Pokhara on Sunday morning, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal confirmed.

There were 68 passengers and 4 crew members onboard. According to District Police Office Kaski, at least 68 dead bodies have been recovered from the incident site. The search and rescue operation is undergoing and Nepal Police, Nepali Army, and Armed Police Force are being deployed for this purpose. The aircraft caught fire as it crashed in the Seti River ravine site.

The 9N-ANC aircraft took off at 10.32 am from Kathmandu and met with an accident at 10.50 am just before the landing at Pokhara International Airport that was inaugurated on 1st January 2023. Kamal KC was the chief captain of the aircraft.

The government of Nepal has announced a holiday for tomorrow to mourn the victims of the deadly incident and formed a committee to probe the incident.
