Pokhara–Young entrepreneur Arjun Pokhrel has announced his chairman candidacy for the 34th convention of Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI). The convention is going to be held on September 10 and 11. Pokhrel, who is the vice chairman of PCCI has already served as an executive member, deputy general secretary, and general secretary in this organization.
Revealing his manifesto in a press meet on Sunday, Pokhrel vowed to make PCCI a common home of the Pokhreli people. He further said that he would make PCCI a strong organization economically and physically. Widening of PCCI role, offering business mentoring services, forging a better business and investment environment also are his agendas.
‘Respect to seniors is a part but I decided to set out my journey ahead,’ he said, ‘my candidacy stays away from any politics and factionalism.’ Pokhrel said that he would host an investment summit in Pokhara and also work to develop Pokhara as an international tourist destination. Addressing a press meet, Pokhrel made clear that he would not withdraw his candidacy at any cost as a chairman of PCCI. ‘I will rather give up PCCI but not my candidacy,’ he said, you could see me in Pokhara even after the convention.
PCCI was established in 2011 BS and it has around 3300 members.
