Pokhara—Kishor Dutta Baral has been elected as a chairman of Nepali Congress Kaski. Baral who secured 995 votes defeated his only rival Sudip Mohan Bhattarai by 80 votes on Saturday.
Earlier, no candidates- Baral, Bhattarai, Aibahadur Gurung, Poshnath Sharma, and Giriraj Gautam, garnered the majority votes and the polls entered into the second round between two candidates who secured the highest votes. A total of 1926 votes were cast from the eligible 2088 voters.
Baral who has been elected as a new chairman is the promoter of a research center and also a former principal and associate professor.
