By Rup Narayan Dhakal : Pokhara—Tourism entrepreneurs from Bangladesh and Pokhara reached a common understanding of business collaboration and destination promotion in each other’s area. The understanding was clinched during a tourism networking program held in Pokhara on Thursday.
The program was organized by Pokhara Tourism Council (PTC) in coordination with Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Nepal Chapter and was promoted by Nepal Tourism Board (NTB). Hotel Barahi, Mount Kailash Resort, Waterfront Resort, Swiss International Hotel Sarowar, and REBAN were the hospitality partners.
Addressing a program, PATA Bangladesh Chapter Chairman Shahid Hamid said that he was impressed by the hospitality and natural beauty of Pokhara. At the same time, PATA Nepal Chapter CEO Suresh Shrestha made clear that his organization has worked for regional tourism promotion as they have a big network of tourism fraternity.
NTB senior director and Gandaki Province Chief Kashi Raj Bhandari informed that Pokhara is soon going to be the tourism capital of Nepal. He also reminded that tourism is the hardest hit sector of Nepal by the Covid 19 pandemic. Program coordinator and NTB former member Tikaram Sapkota stressed regional promotion and talked about the state of tourism at a time of pandemics. He also welcomed 20-member delegates from Bangladesh. PTC general secretary Ram Chandra Sharma was the master of ceremony. The program was followed by B2B program.
