12 persons killed in Salyan bus plunge

Pokhara—At least 12 persons died when a passenger bus met with an accident in Nepal’s Salyan district this morning. The bus was heading for Tulsipur of Dang from Khalanga of Salyan and plunged some 2 hundred meters down at 11 am as it arrived near Kapoorkot- 5 Kharkhola of Salyan.

Salayan district DSP Govida Thapa confirmed the incident. 6 died on the spot when the rest succumbed to injury on the way to the hospital. More than 18 passengers got injured in the accident. It has been said that some 30 passengers were traveling the bus and the reason behind the accident is yet to be identified however over speed is blamed for the accident. 10 are males among the deceased. The passengers were going back to the city after having marked Tihar, the festival of lights.
