Pokhara—Laxman Subedi has been unanimously elected as a chairman of Paschimanchal Hotel Association (PHAP) Pokhara on Friday. The 20th convention and 40th annual general meeting of PHAP also elected a new executive for the upcoming two years of tenure with no oppose.
PHAP election committee coordinator Meharman Shrestha announced the names of new executives in a formal ceremony held in Pokhara. The convention elected Deepak Shrestha as the first vice-chairman and Ganeshraj Pahari as the second vice-chairman. Rajendra Dhakal became general secretary and Parvata Pandey was elected as secretary of PHAP.
Netra Prasad Paudel and Bibhav Paudel were elected as treasurer and joint treasurer. Anil Shrestha, Bharatraj Sharma, Pampha Pahari, and Kalpana Baral Achikari were elected as executive members of the new committee. Bikal Tulachan is the immediate past president and 5 other members would be nominated by the chairman in a 17 member PHAP committee.
Earlier, in a close session, Pahari and Pandey presented their reports and they were passed by the hall. IPP Tulachan thanked his committee and all hotel members including other concerns for their supports to make Tulachan’s tenure successful.
Gandaki Province Physical Planning, Urban Development, and Transportation Minister Kumar Khadka inaugurated the closing session of the PHAP convention and AGM. Minister Khadka on behalf of PHAP felicitated Bishwo Shankar Palikhe for his contribution to the process of the construction of Pokhara Regional International Airport.
Hotel Association Nepal vice-chairman Prabin Bahadur Pandey, Gandaki Province Assembly member Rajiv Pahari, PHAP advisor and past president Palikhe, Pokhara Tourism Council Chairman Gopi Bahadur Bhattarai, ward chair Jagat Bahadur Pahari, and PHAP general secretary Ganeshraj Pahari put their remarks during the closing ceremony.
