By Rup Narayan Dhakal : Pokhara–Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has dissolved the House of Representatives and declared a mid-term election scheduled for November 12 and 19.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers today took this decision as the political parties failed to form a new government as per article 76-5 of Nepal’s Constitution.
Yesterday, the Office of the President of Nepal had made clear that the claims submitted by CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and NC Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba to form a new government as per article 76-5 of Nepal’s Constitution were incomplete.
Oli and Deba with the claim of 153 and 149 lawmakers respectively, had registered their claim at President Office to form a new government last day. But the President office found that some lawmakers from Janata Samajbadi Party and ruling CPN-UML have been claimed from both sides. So, the President Office got no clear base to appoint the new PM, a release issued by the President Office states.
