Pokhara—Main opposition Nepali Congress Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba urged the government to vaccinate all Nepali citizens at the earliest against Covid- 19 Thursday. Submitting a 15-point memorandum to Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli, Deuba asked the government to import vaccines through diplomatic channels as soon as possible. He also underlined the transparent procurement of the vaccines.
Deuba also demanded to probe the alleged irregularities that were floated during the procurement of health materials from China. Likewise, NC Chairman Deuba also urged the government to probe the alleged game of commission that happened during the procurement of Covid- 19 vaccines from India.
Management of oxygen concentrator and ICU beds, proper supply of oxygen cylinders and availability of ventilators in hospitals also are included demands in the memorandum. Separate beds to infected children, awareness programs targeting the children, PCR tests on the basis of contact tracing and mobile team to collect swab samples are also his concerns. Strict implementation of health protocol regarding coronavirus is another inclusion in the memorandum. Chairman Deuba also urged the government to monitor the expensive helicopter rescuing service to the Covid-19 patients.
