Pokhara—Host Sahara Club Pokhara (SCP) is to take on APF Club in the opening match of the 19th Aaha Rara Gold Cup Football Tournament that is going to be held in Pokhara Stadium from Saturday.
Similarly, Machhindra Club will take on African Association Cameroon in the 2nd quarter. Likewise, Sankata Club and Nepal Oil Corporation Manang Marshyangdi Club will be fighting in the third quarter-final match. The fourth quarter-final will be held between Ruslan Three Star Club and Nepal Police Club. Then, the final battle will happen on April 10.
According to SCP General Secretary Ramji Prasad Adhikari, the winning team will bag Rs 1 million while the runner-up will receive Rs 0.5 million. The saving fund is to be invested for Sahara Academy where 24 children from different 14 districts have been learning football with accommodation facility, informed SCP Chairman Keshab Bahadur Thapa. Him Shree Foods Pvt. Ltd is the main sponsor of the tournament.
