President Bhandari nominates Gautam as Upper House member

Pokhara—Nepal Communist Party (NCP) vice-chairman Bamdev Gautam has been nominated as a member of the National Assembly on Thursday. President Bidhya Devi Bhandari nominated Gautam following the recommendation of Nepal’s council of ministers.

President can nominate three members in national and one of the quotas was vacant for six months. Gautam is the defeated candidate of Bardiya district, in the general election. He will be sworn in shortly. Earlier, NCP standing committee meeting decided to recommend Gautam as a member of the National Assembly.
