Pokhara—Pokhara Chamber of Commerce has urged the local government not to extend the ongoing prohibitory order in Kaski district of Gandaki Province on Tuesday.
Issuing a statement PCC chairman Kishan Sunar stated that that order will affect the national economy as Nepal has a very small economy. District Administration Office Kaski has imposed prohibitory order in this district since August 19, 2020, and it was decided to extend the order five more days till August 28. Nepal and the whole world have been fighting against COVID 19 for more than 8.5 months.
The PCC has also requested all the concerns to obey the health and safety criteria to ease the coronavirus, demanding the continuity of production, trade, and businesses.
Chairman Sunar also suggested the government to apply the alternatives of lockdown as like some of the other countries doing. “That will not only help to make economy vibrant but also the daily life will also be normalized,” he added.
PCC praised the government’s recent relief and restoration package and urged the government to implement the recent monitory policy soundly. The organization also urged the government to save the right to business and trade.
