Pokhara—Pokhara Chamber of Commerce (PCC) Kaski has submitted a memorandum to Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari, demanding the availability of online transaction service in free of cost. PCC Kaski chairman Kishan Sunar expressed his dissatisfaction over the cost charging in that service.
The submitted memorandum reads that the taking money from customers for online transaction discourages the private sector. At a time when government has policy that it would like to promote digital payment, taking charge is against that policy.
However, banks and finances had provided online transaction services in free of cost until July 15, 2020 during ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Chairman Sunar claimed that the banks’ latest move doesn’t support to edge the Covid-19 instead fueled to spread virus infection in society as customers would like to go bank instead of selecting online transaction.
