Pokhara—A senior journalist from Nepal has been found dead near by a hydro-power project in Makawanpur district. According to Nepal Police Balaram Baniya who was the joint editor of Kantipur daily, a broadsheet Nepali language newspaper, and went missing since Monday noon from Nepal’s capital city Kathmandu.
His body was found the day before at Sisneri in Makawanpur at around 11 am and his identity was confirmed this afternoon. Police also claimed that Baniya was last seen near Balkhu Bridge in Kathmandu was swept away by the stream as he went under this bridge. Baniya is the husband of a wife and is the father of two children.
Nepali social media users and journalists remained shocked as his death’s news came out. Some of the people have asked concerned authority to launch a probe over the death of Baniya. Recently, Baniya had wrote a news claiming that China encroached Nepali territory but the news turned false as the government bodies revealed the truth. And the, Kantipur daily had to excuse to its readers.
