14 killed in Sindhupalchok bus accident

Pokhara—At least 14 persons were killed when a bus carrying pilgrims met with an accident in Nepal’s Sindhupalchok district on Sunday morning. 18 others have been injured in the accident.

The bus was going to Bhaktapur from Kalinchok of Dolakha and plunged some 100 meter down to the road at 6 km mode of Sunkoshi Rural Municipality- 7 along the Lamosanghu-Jiri road section, informed Nepal Police Sub Inspector Rajesh Dahal.  According to Dahal, 12 were dead in spot and two other succumbed to injury at hospital. The identity of deceased is yet to be known.

The bus seems in crushed state as it skied of the road. The cause of the incident is also unknown. Police however assume that the incident happened as the driver showed his negligence in the road turning.  The reserved bus was coming back after visiting the Kalinchok shrine.
