Pokhara—Pokhara based journalist Rishi Ram Baral has been felicitated with Tanka Devi-Tulsi Prasad Memorial Journalism Award 2075 BS in Pokhara on Tuesday.
Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Man Bahadur GC handed over that award to journalist Baral who is a reporter of the Himalayan Times and executive editor of eadarsha.com. The award which was given on the occasion of National Journalism Day carries a purse of Rs 25,000 and shawl.
42-year-old Baral is the inhabitant of Pokhara- 13, Arva and has been in media sector for two decade. Baral is the general member of the federation of Nepali Journalists Kaski chapter that conducts that award. He is also a councilor of Federation of Independent Journalists. The award had already given to journalists Uma Singh, Ram Krishna Gnawali, Rita Gurung, Ishwori Neupane, Ganesh Pandey, Dipendra Shrestha, Rishi Dhamala, Madhav Paneru and Jamuna Barsha Sharma.
President Bidhya Devi Bhandari’s press advisor Madhav Sharma, FNJ Gandaki Chairman Tribhuban Poudel, award winner selection committee coordinator Kushum Keshav Parajuli, FNJ Kaski founding Chairman Umakanta Sharma, felicitated journalist Baral, Brahmakumari Apsara, late Tanka Devi-Tulsi Prasad’s son Subarna Prasad Koirala, FNJ Kaski Chairman Dipendra Shrestha, vice president Bimala Bhandari and secretary Ram Prasad Timilsena delivered their views during the ceremony.
