Pokhara—Jagdish Ghising of Nepali Army has made a national record in equestrian championship held at Barahi Sports Ground in Lakeside- Pokhara on Friday. Ghising’s horse Sammohan jumped 5 feet 9 inches in high jump, breaking the earlier record 5 feet 5 inches of Ramhari Khadka.
Ghisingh competed with armymen rajendra Thapa and Karan Chaudhary to bag gold medal. Thapa’s horse jumped 5 feet 7 inch while Chaudhary’s horse jumped 5 feet 5 inch to bag silver and bronze medal respectively.
Likewise, in tent pegging event, army man Govinda Bahadur Khadka, Om Prakash Yadav and Tilaram Khadka bagged gold, silver and bronze medal respectively. Nepali Army’s Om Prakash Yadav, Jagadish Ghimire and Megh Bikram Khadka got gold, silver and bronze medal in show jump event.Gold, silver and bronze medal winners bag Rs Rs 20,000, Rs, 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.
Raj Adhikari, Navin Pun and Rohit Gautam bagged gold, silver and bronze medal in local pony race event to bagged Rs 15,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively. Similarly, Kabita Thapa, Yam Kumari Rana and Sarita Shrestha took part in women equestrian exhibition. Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Man Bahadur GC including other distributed the prize money.
