Makoto Odakura becomes triathlon champion

Pokhara—Makoto Odakura from Japan won the gold medal in Asian Cup Men’s Triathlon Championship held in touristy town Pokhara on Saturday. The championship contained 750 meter swimming in Phewa Lake, 20 km cycling and 5 km race that was completed Odakura in 54 minute and 56 second.

Similarly, Dan Mcintosh from Poland became first runner up and won silver medal. At the same time, Je Kim got bronze medal becoming the 2nd runner up in the championship. They completed the stipulated course in 54 minute 33 second and 55 minute 2 second respectively.  

Likewise, in women side, Yu Jin Park from Korea, Konami Yusida from Japan and Naomi Takamine god gold, silver and bronze medal. Participants from Nepal, Japan, Korea, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Poland, Australia, India and Bangladesh took part in the championship. 19 male and 8 female players took part in the competition.

Similarly, Basanta Tharu from Nepal, Lokesh Kumar from India and Nitesh Manandhar from Nepal became first, second and third to get gold, silver and bronze medal respectively in 7th series of South Asian men’s event of triathlon. In women’s side, Pragnya Moan from India, Monika Mukeshbhai from India and Sony Gurung from Nepal got gold, silver and bronze medal respectively.
