Nepal launches first ever its satellite

Pokhara—Nepal has launched its first every Sateline Nepalsat-1 on Thursday morning at 2.31am. The launch took place in the Mid Atlantic Regional Spaceport at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility on Virginia’s East Shore, on US Eastern time 4: 46 PM.

The launch was carried out under the Birds-3 Program which is an effort in collaboration with Nepal’s Government and the Japanese Space Agency, (JAXA) . The JAXA coordinated that launch. According tto Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), Two Nepali scientists Aabhas Maskey and Hariram Shrestha made Nepalsat-1.They are currently studying at Japanese Kyushu Institute of Technology.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli congratulated Nepali people for the launching of Nepalsat-1 which has 10 cm length, width and height. It has a weight of 1.330 Kg.
