Christchurch mosques shooting death toll reaches 49

Christchurch—At least 49 persons were killed and more than 20 other seriously wounded when unidentified group opened fires in two mosques in Christchurch on Friday, confirmed New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.

Police have said that they have taken control three men and women who are allegedly the attackers of those mosques. Security persons defused the huge amount of IEDs found inside the cars that were believed to be brought by the attackers. Suspects are said to be not in any security watch lean.

“These are people who I would describe as having extremist views that have absolutely no place in New Zealand.” PM Arden said. The suspects were said not to be on any security watch lists.

According to information 30 persons were killed in the Masjid Al Noor while seven inside the Linwood Masjid. Rest three were slain outside the Linwood mosque and some in hospitals.
