Snowfall kills more than 1,135 animals in Lo Manthang

Pokhara—More than 1,135 four footed animals have been killed due to incesent snowfall at Lo Manthang Rural Municipality in Mustang district, Gandaki Province Police Office DSP Govinda Puri confirmed.

According to Puri, such incidents happened in ward number 3, 4 and 5 of that rural municipality. The snowfall began from February 27 and continued for about two weeks. Local farmers had informed Border Police Post Lo Manthang about the deaths of 239 yaks and 888 mountain goats of 55 persons.

A team of police had reached the victim areas and started the investigation which is still undergoing in those areas situated in 3,840 m height from the sea level.
