Tops lift school level cricket title

Pokhara—Tops Secondary School won the title of Nepalese Encounters School Level T20 cricket tournament. Beating Prativa Secondary School by 17 runs, tops bagged Rs 25,000 including other prizes. Runner up Prativa got Rs 15,000.

Tops posted a total of 110 runs including 88 scored by Mekh Bahadur Sen. Anjan KC took 3 wickets and Roshan Neupane toppled two wickets. But Prativa made only 93 runs losing 9 wickets playing full 20 overs. Mekh Bahadur Sen later was awarded as man of the series. Jagadish Ghimire of Prativa got the prize of best batsman, Aman Shrestha from Himalayan Boarding School became best bowler and Aaditya Thapa of same school got the prize of emerging player. The tournament was organized by Kaski District Cricket Association and managed by Why Worry Event Management Pvt. Ltd. A total of 12 schools took part in the tournament.

Later, Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Man Bahadur GC, main sponsor Nepalese Encounters’ Managing Director Narayan Pahari, Western Regional Sports Development Committee chairman Sampanna Shrestha, Kaski District Sports Development Committee Chairman Yam Bahadur Gurung and KDCA chairman Sanjay Kanta Sigdel, WWEM chairman Bhagwan Shrestha, tournament coordinator Bhoj Baral and journalist Binod Lamichhane distributed the prizes.
