Three killed as truck hits parked bus

Sarlahi—Three persons have been killed and three other injured when a truck hit a parked passenger bus at Banke jungle along the East-West Highway in Sarlahi district last night.

The bus was going to Ilam from Kathmandu but on the parking as it malfunctioned in Ishworpur Municipality- 12. The truck hit on the rear side of the bus at around 2 am at night. Deceased have been identified as Govinda Sauden, 27, of Ilam, Bineta Rai, 30, of Itahari and Rahim Miya, 35, of Parsa, informed District Police Office Sarlahai.

According to information, Rai and Sauden who were the passengers of the bus and standing behind of the bus as repairing was undergoing. At the same time a high speed truck crushed them. Miya was believed to be a truck driver. Bus driver Rajendra Khatiwada of Jhapa, Dawa Tamang of Nuwakot and Deepak Adhikari of Udaypur are having treatment in hospitals.
