Kathmandu–The Mahasamiti meeting of Nepali Congress is starting after six years today at Ramshahpath in Kathmandu. Most of the Mahasamiti members have been arrived to here. Some 1,200 representatives from 240 election constituencies, 97 representatives from sister wings and well wisher associations and 97 from public relation committees are going to take part in the meeting.
29 district chairmen and 26 lawmakers who are not Mahasamiti members also are taking part in the meeting. Almost all the central members including 200 Mahasamiti members from Forum Democratic also are the part of the meeting which is going to be held for the first time after the implementation of federalism in Nepal.
The party statute amendment is the main agenda of the meeting. Political report, organizational report and treasurer’s report have already been passed by the NC meeting which will be ended on 18th of December. NC general secretary Purna Bahadur Khadka will propose statute amendment in close session where another general secretary Dr. Sashanka Koirala will tabled organizational report.
A total of 5 different reports will be presented in the close session. Seven groups from seven province will be formed to discuss those reports. The wrangling between NC chairman Sher Bahadur Deuwa and NC senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel is one of the issues of the meeting. Youth leaders have different versions in the meeting.
