Pokhara—Dhaulagiri Basic School at Kopchepani in Annapurna Rural Municipality -4 of Myagdi District has received the 12 bundles of color-coated corrugated sheet on Tuesday.
The school building was swept away by the floods of Kali Gandaki River on 15 August, 2018. In this connecction, the financial support was extended by the Wun Hua Jhensin Education Foundation Taiwan and Hui Guang Moral Study Center Singapore to buy those material. The support process was coordinated by the Education Department of Social Development Ministry of Gandaki Province.
In a small function, Nepal representative Yam Bahadur Gurung handed over those sheets to School Management Committee Chairman Durga Bahadur Khadka and Principal Shanti Ramjali. Meanwhile, handing over the materials, Gurung asked the school family to utilize those sheets and to construct the school building.
The school building which was on the banks of Kali Gandaki River was swept away by floods of Kali Gandaki River. Principal Ramjali informed that the support became possible as education department deputy secretary Damodar Subedi knew about the incident and cooperated with the foundation.
She further informed that the school had received Rs 50,000, tarpaulins including some mattress from rural municipality office and child friendly materials from Learn Nepal. Similarly, school committee chairman Khadka said that they had no alternative of seeking support from various donors and people to erect the new building.
According to information, social worker Jagat Bahadur Bohara from Bhalebas, Upallo Chaur donated more than 2 aanas of land to that school. The school which situates in 1 km walking distance from famous Rupse fall offers the education up to three grade. There are 12 students and two teachers in the school.
