Pokhara—Nepal Communist Party (NCP) leader and former minister Mahesh Basnet Monday accused Dr Govinda KC of affiliating with medical mafias. Addressing a press meet organized by Press Sanghathan Nepal in Pokhara, leader Basnet said that the KC’s demand that bars to open medical colleges for upcoming 10 years in Kathmandu Valley is an example of his relationship with mafias.
“As we criticize Govinda KC, big media houses chase us,” he further said, despite in scholarship, the nation should not allow its citizen to go out to study medical education in private investment. According to leader Basnet, it is not fare to stop establishing of medical colleges in Nepal and sending students out of Nepal for such education.
He also accused judiciary of becoming a hurdle in dozens of development works and added that the former government emptied the government funds so that mega projects could not be started. Saying that Nepal remained back-warded for 60 years as BP Koirala’s government failed to deliver, he added we will be go nowhere for years if existing government face same fate. ‘So, we should walk the way to prosperity, beating feudalism.’ leader Basnet said.
Referring to the NCP senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal recent speech in parliament, leader Basent termed that an irresponsible speech. According to Basent, senior leader’s speech that stated the nation was about to sink was a wrong saying.
