PTC elects new executive body

Pokhara—Chiranjibi Pokharel has been unanimously elected chairman of Pokhara Tourism Council, an umbrella organization of tourism related organizations from Pokhara region.

The 18th annual general meeting and 10th convention that was held on Monday also selected the other executives of the new committee for upcoming tenure. As per the information, Gopi Bahadur Bhattarai has been selected vice chairman of the PTC. Similarly, Dilli Prasad Gautam has been picked in general secretary of the council. Taranath Pahari was chosen as secretary.

At the same time, Krishna Prasad Bhandari, Ramji Ghimire and Ram Chandra Sharma were elected as the member of the PTC. The first meeting of new executive body will nominate a treasurer from the executive members of the committee. Earlier, Gandaki Province tourism minister Bikas Lamsal had inaugurated the convention and said that the Pokhara was going to be announced a tourism capital of Nepal within three months.

Likewise, Kaski District CDO Chakra Bahadur Budha, Gandaki Province assembly member Rajiv Pahari, PTC founding chairman Ashok Palikhe, Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry chairman Damu Adhikari, PTC former chairman and Pokhara Valley Urban Development Committee chairman Sundaru Kumar Shrestha and PTC former chairman Ganesh Bahadur Bhattarai put their remarks during the opening ceremony chaired by PTC then president Kedar Nath Sharma.
