Pokhara—Newly elected Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) executives have been sworn in on Monday.
PCCI new chairman Damu Adhikari administered the oath of office and secrecy to his executives in a formal ceremony organized at PCCI hall. Chairman Adhikari had taken the oath from PCCI election commission coordinator Tirtha Shrestha on last Saturday. The 32nd convention of PCCI had elected 24-member elected body on that day and 4-member would be nominated by chairman later.
The installation program of newly elected chairman Adhikari including other executives has also taken place on Monday. Chairman Adhikari including his team members took the charge of office from immediate past President Bishwo Shankar Palikhe in the presence of PCCI former chairman and Gandaki Province Assembly member Bindu Kumar Thapa and PCCI executive director Top Bahadur Thapa. The first meeting of new executive body also thanked PCCI election committee, chief guest, guests, PCCI general members and security agencies for their help to hold the election successfully.
Gandaki Province assembly member Thapa congratulated newly elected body and asked it to make PCCI a strong organization of private sector. He also suggested new executive body to come up with certain planning representing the voices of traders and business persons. PCCI IPP Bishwo Shankar Palikhe suggested all the elected and defeated persons to be united forgetting all the bitterness shown during the election.
