APF wins men’s volleyball title

Pokhara—Armed Police Force Malepatan has lifted the title of club level men’s volleyball tournament organized by Lama Amrit Foundation Ghandruk, in Pokhara on Tuesday.

AFP beat Baglung Club 25-17, 25-19, 20-25, 21-25 and 15-12 in best of five. Winner APF bagged Rs 50,000 including shield, medal and certificate. At the same time, runner up Baglung received Rs 30,000 including shield, medal and certificate.

Similarly, in women’s category, Tops SC A thrashed Asian Shoes Industries Lamachaur 20-25, 23-25, 25-10, 25-7 and 15-9 in best of five. Winner and runner up received Rs 22,222 and Rs 15,555 respectively. Likewise, in men’s veterans, Rambazaar Club beat Danfe Club Ghandruk 25-18, 28-26 and 25-19 in straight set. Winner and runner up team bagged Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.

APF’s Bijay Thapa became best player of the tournament; Baglung Club’s Santosh Basnet won the prize of best blocker. Bishnu Chhetri of same team became best spiker. In women’s category, ASIL’s Luku Pun became best player and Top’s Pabitra BC won the prize of best spiker, informed tournament coordinator Ganesh Ghamal.

Chief guest Annapurna Rural Municipality Chief Yubaraj Kunwar, National Volleyball team captain Man Bahadur Shresta and first prize sponsor Subedar Nar Bahadur Gurung including other distributed the prize in a concluding ceremony chaired by foundation president Amrit Gurung.
