Two found dead, three still missing in Rautahat boat capsize

Pokhara—Two of the missing persons of Rautahat boat capsize have been found dead in Lalbakaiya River of Rautahat this morning. Two other are still missing and 22 persons swam to save themselves and were rescued right after the incident on Saturday.

According to Rautahat Chief District Officer Govinda Prasad Rijal, found bodies are of Shanti Devi Shaha, 65 of Gaur Municipality- 5 and Runa Devi Patel, 35 of Ishanath Municipality- 3. The bodies were found in Belawaghat of India, some 10 Km south of Nepal border.

Missing persons are said to be Omprakash Chandrabanshi, 17, Ms Indi Devi Patel, 45, and Ushma Patel, 10 of Rautahat district. According to District Police Office Rautahat, the search operation for missing persons is undergoing. The boat was heading for Tikuliyaghat of Rautahat district headquarter- Gaur and met with an accident at around 7 pm.The people on board were returning back to their home after having day work in their fields and the incident happened as the boat collided with a pillar of under constructed bridge.

Similarly, the dead body of one of the three missing children has been found in Kamala River in the bordering area of Siraha and Dhanusha on Sunday. The incident happened as the children had reached Kamala River to bring some water to offer Shiva Temple situates at Golbazaar of that district. According to DSP Dipendra Shah, the body of Krishna was found and one boy was rescued instantly during the incident day.
