Jaun Hai Pokhara promotional campaign concludes

By Rup Narayan Dhakal : Pokhara—Paschimanchal Hotel Association Pokhara (PHAP) has wrapped up a four day long Jaun Hai Pokhara- Let’s go to Pokhara promotional campaign on Monday. Hoteliers and executives from PHAP organized interaction programs and documentary shows during the campaign held in Dhangadhi, Kanchanpur, Nepalgunj and Surkhet of West Nepal.

Jaun Hai Pokhara campaign was launched in 2002 during a decade-long civil war of Nepal. According to PHAP Chairman and campaign coordinator Bikal Tulachan, the campaign has come a long way in the sector of domestic tourism promotion. At that time, Nepalese were hardly recognized as tourist in their own land but the campaign has proved that Nepalese also could be a tourist.

At the same time, PHAP former Chairman and Hotel Association Nepal executive member Biplav Paudel informed that the Jaun Hai Pokhara Campaign remained very successful as Nepalese tourists has been fulfilling the 50 percent of total occupancy of Pokhara hotels.

During this campaign, west and the Far West Nepal tourism entrepreneurs have floated a proposal to exchange tourists between Lake City Pokhara and West Nepal region. As per the proposal, Indian tourists who enter Nepal through border points will be encourage to go to Pokhara and in return, entrepreneurs from Pokhara should motivate Pokhara visiting tourists to travel West Nepal.

Meanwhile, hoteliers from Pokhara also invited entrepreneurs and public from West Nepal to visit Fewa New Year Festival 2074 that would be held during Nepali New Year from April 11. Four different packages- visit, educational tour and two about honeymoon were also made public in the programs organized during that campaign in West Nepal, informed PHAP General Secretary Ganesh Raj Pahari.

Hotel Entrepreneurs’ Association Kailali Chairman Kamal Bom, Hotel Entrepreneurs’ Association Kanchanpur Chairman Parma Nand Bhandari and Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal Nepalgunj Director Pratap Babu Tiwari also expressed their views during the programs organized under that campaign promoted by Nepal Tourism Board.
