US-Bangla aircraft crashes in Tribhuvan International Airport

Kathmandu—A Bombardier Dash 8Q-400 aircraft of US-Bangla Airlines of Bangladesh crashed in Tribhuvan International Airport this afternoon. The plane was carrying 78 passengers and skidded off the runway when it was landing at the airport. No human casualty is reported however firefighters are working to exhaust the fire that caught the plane. Some of the passengers have been sent to hospital.

The photographs included in Nepali media report show the large plume of smoke in the site. Witnesses said that the incident occurred when plane was taking short turn during landing. All the flights and TIA services have been halted due to the incident, informed Nepal Police Spokesperson Manoj Neupane.
