Pokhara—Bal Sahayog Kendra–Children Help Center (CHC) which was established some two years ago in Melpokhari of Rukum district has urged interested national and international helping hands for donation for the education and accommodation of helpless children who lost their guardians during a decade long Maoist insurgency in Nepal.
According to CHC Chairman Khem Pun, his institution would like to guarantee the rights of helpless children cooperating with government and donor agencies as well as interested individuals. Pun further added that Rukum was one of the badly affected areas during insurgency that left hundreds of children helpless with no education. CHC is also planning to help the children turned helpless due to the nature fury especially in Rukum district.
Earlier, CHC has bought required area of land to construct the buildings and other physical structures to run the official tasks and help center in Rukum, informed CHC Vice Chairman Bam Bahadur Pun. Pun also said that they would like to distribute stationery items to 500 poor and helpless students who have been studying in government school in this district.
CHC also would like to circulate some 5,000 copies of booklets to aware the children for their rights. Interactions with stakeholders and government office bearers, construction of 4 school buildings as well as the libraries are some of the key targets among the eight major proposed programs of CHC, informed CHC secretary Raju Pun Magar.
