Four accused made public

Pokhara—District Police Office Kaski has made public four persons who had allegedly tried to extort provincial assembly member Bindu Kumar Thapa including other entrepreneurs, in Pokhara on Thursday.

Thapa is assembly member of Province 4 of constituency number 2 (2) and a real-estate entrepreneur. He is also a immediate past president of Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry. According to DPO Kaski Chief SP Ashok Singh, Nal Bahadur Gurung aka Shankar from Syangja district is a mastermind behind the plot. Amrit Khadka and Shiva Karki from same district, Ramu Subedi from Parvat district are also the members of Nal’s team.

Gurung’s team also had demanded big amount of money from real estate entrepreneur Kalu Gurung, Bodh Raj Giri and cable car entrepreneur Rajesh Babu Shrestha over cell phone. According to police, the investigation has been carried out in abduction and captivity issue. They have demanded Rs 20 million from lawmaker Thapa and other entrepreneurs.

They used various SIM cards to extort Thapa and called him giving death threat from Nepal and India too, claiming that they are the boys of absconding infamous gangster Manoj Pun.
