By Rup Narayan Dhakal : Pokhara—Defeating Nepal Army Club 5-4 in penalty shootout, Dharan Football Club (DFC) advanced in semifinals of 16th Aaha Rara Gold cup Football Tournament that is being held here in Pokhara Stadium.
The match reached to penalty shootout as both the teams scored 1 goal each in stipulated 90 minute time and added another 20 minute time. DFC’s captain Bishnu KC, man of the match Nisan Limbu, Buddhiman Rai, Roman Limbu and Suraj BK capitalized their effort in penalty shootout. At the same time Nawayug Shrestha, Dipak Gurung, Dip Lama and Bibek Basnet scored for Nepal Army Club. NAC’s George Prince Karki failed to score as the ball collided in cross bar during his shot.
Earlier, NAC’s Bharat Khawas scored first goal in 18 minute while DFC’s Nisan Limbu answered his goal in 63rd minute. DFC will take on the winner between Manag Marshyangdi Club and Nepal Police Club in last semifinals.
Speaking in post-match press conference, DFC’s manager Ashok Rai claimed that his boys played better game than the previous one. NAC’s coach Nabin Neupane said that DFC leveled the score in 90 minute time as his players take the match following the scoring from their side. Armed Police Force will take on Three Star Club tomorrow.
