Lekhnath festival kicked off

Pokhara—The Provincial Industrial and Trade Fair and Lekhnath Festival has been started at Talchok in Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City on Thursday. Lawmaker Khaga Raj Adhikari has inaugurated the festival in a formal ceremony.

Handicrafts items, culture from Lekhnath, local productions, agro items, autos, garment, dairy are some of the attractions of the festival. According to organizer Lekhnath Chamber of Commerce and Industry chairman and festival coordinator Krishna Hari Bhandari, a total of 350 stalls are included in the festival.

Promotion and marketing of handicraft and local items is the key motive of the festival. Children Park, food festival, musical concert, national folk duet songs, educational activities, cultural shows, school level dances and singing are also the attractions of the festival.

The festival targets the transaction of around Rs 200 million and saving of Rs 2 million. Province Assembly member duos Deepak Koirala and Bindu Kumar Thapa, Trade and Export Center’s Executive Director Sharad Bikram Rana, Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry former chairman Sanjeev Bahadur Koirala, Nepali Congress Kaski chairman Krishna KC, Tanahun Chamber of Commerce and Industry chairman Mankaji Shrestha including other expressed their remarks during the opening ceremony.Earlier, the cultural tableaus have marched to reach the festival venue. The festival ends on February 5.
