Pokhara—Tops Secondary School became the champion of 15th PABSON Sports Meet in Pokhara on Sunday. Tops lifted the trophy for the fourth consecutive time defeating 80 other schools of Kaski district.
At the same time, Hill Point Secondary Schools defeated Snow View Secondary School 2-1 to grab the title of senior football under that sports meet. Nilgiri Boarding School got the title of men’s volleyball defeating its rival Golden Future School in the final match. Little Daffodil became third defeating its rival Chirgadi Boarding School.
Similarly, Srijana Secondary School, Mother Land Boarding School and Step by Step Boarding Schools became first, second and third respectively in table tennis championship. Ramesh Gurung from Hill Point became best player in senior football and Sandesh Thapa from Snow View became best in junior football. Suyog Bhandari from Pragati became best player in men’s category and Mamata Dagaura from Tops became best player towards women category. Bieshes Bhandari from Nilgiri and Mamata Dagaura from Tops became best player in men’s and women volleyball.
In 400 meters race, Prasiddha Ranabhat from Fishtail, Saugat Ghimire from Global and Akash Shrestha from Tops became first, second and third respectively in men’s category. Kushum Paudel from Ex-Army, Reshma Tiwari from Tops and Sujata Shrestha from Gurukul became first, second and third respectively in women side of same distance of race. Dipendra Karki from River Dale, Prateek Shrestha from Fishtal and Ameet Gurung from Golden Nature became first, second and third respectively in men’s triple jump. In 400 meter women relay race, Fishtail, Bethani and Srijana became first, second and third. Likewise, Srijana, Bethani and Pragati became first, second and third in men’s category in same race.
Winners players were given prizes by District Education Office Kaski chief Narendra Raj Paudel, Nepal Olympic Committee member Tej Bahadur Gurung, District Sports Development Committee chairman Yam Gurung and Private and Boarding School Association of Nepal (PABSON) Kaski senior vice chairman Sadanand Gautam in the concluding ceremony chaired by PABSON Kaski president Dinesh Kumar Shrestha. A total of 6,000 players from 80 schools took part in that sports meet inaugurated on November 23 in Pokhara.
