Tara Air twin otter crashes in Simikot

Pokhara—A Tara Air twin otter aircraft 9N-ABM that was about to take off from Simikot of Humla to Surkhet crashed hurting 16 persons including crew members on board on Tuesday morning.

The aircraft suffered sudden tyre puncture when it was taking race on the runway. At the same time the aircraft skied to the southern part of the runway, facing the nose damage at around 9.50am, informed Province VI police chief AIG Rana Bahadur Chand.

Captain Basanta Lama including two cops suffered injuries in their head. Other 13 are said to be suffered normal injury. They are being treated in Simikot Humla base hospital. A helicopter has already taken off for Humla to rescue the injured. 13 cops are going to landing in Surkhet after completing the provincial and parliamentary polls held on November 26.
