Pokhara—The 16th Aaha Rara Gold Cup Football Tournament 2018 is to be held from January 23 in Pokhara. Sahara Club Pokhara (SCP) in cooperation with Western Regional Sports Development Committee and District Sports Development Committee Kaski would organize the tournament at Pokhara Stadium.
SCP General Secretary Bishwo Raj Baral informed that the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has provided the schedule to organize the tournament that would be ended on February 3. A total of 12- four foreign teams, departmental teams, A division clubs, one/one team from east and west and host Sahara would take part in the tournament. The main motive of the tournament is that the SCP would like to develop Pokhara as a city of sports through the production of skilled football players.
According to SCP chairman Keshav Bahadur Thapa, the saving from the tournaments has been investing for lodging, fooding, football training, health and education of children of Sahara Academy for 4 years. There are now 28 children from 16 districts in Sahara Academy that situates in Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City- 17 Dobilla.
Him Shree Food Pvt. Ltd’s production Aaha Rara noodles are the main sponsors of the tournament. Hero Dash Scooter (best player), Prithvi Rajmarga Bus Sanchalak Samiti Pokhara (best of five) and official drinking water (Eco Pani) are also going to support the tournament that would be cooperated by Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City and would specially be supported by National Sports Council, ANFA, Kaski District Football Association, Sahara UK, Sahara HK, Sahara Australia. SCP has also managed a mobile jingle of tournament for the users of NTC and Ncell.
