Nepal clinches historic win against India

Pokhara— Nepal has made a historic victory against India after winning by 19 runs in ACC U-19 Asia Cup in Malaysia today. Dipendra Singh Airee turned all rounder as his batting and balling played vital role to defeat India for the first time in its cricket history on Sunday.

Airee made 88 in 101 balls, including 6 fours and 2 sixes and also took four wickets for his side to guarantee the Nepal’s win. Losing toss, Nepal bated first and made total of 185 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in 50 overs match.

Indian bowlers Adiyta Thakare and Avishek Sharma claimed two wickets each. In reply, India became all out in 48.1 overs with only 166 runs on the board. Captain Himansu Rana top-scored of India with 46 runs and Manoj Karla (35), Abhishek Sharma (27), Anuj Rawal (18) and Aditya Thakare (13).

For Nepal, Captain Airee took four wickets while Pawan Sarraf and Sahab Alem took two wickets each. Similarly, Sadip Lamichhane and Kamal Singh Airee claimed one each. Nepal now meets host Malaysia in its final group match to be happened on Tuesday. Earlier on Saturday, Nepal lost to Bangladesh by 2 wickets, in a play that was finalized in Duckworth-Lewis method after it was disturbed by rain.
