Pokhara—An unidentified group opened fire targeting a electoral group of left alliance led by parliamentary candidate and former Finance Minister Barsa Man Pun at Iribang village in Rolpa today.
The group opened nine rounds of fires from the jungle at around 11 am as Pun’s team arrived nearby Kewari Khola of Dui Kholi Rural Municipality- 3. According to news report, police team with Pun also responded by answering the five round of gun fires. Pun’s team was heading for Bagmara of Iribang and later, the team also reached their safely and hold an electoral mass meeting.
Similarly, an unidentified group made mine blast targeting a Pun’s team travelling vehicle in Madi- 1 Bhittabang of same district on Saturday. Pun has been travelling in Ba 15 Cha 8627 Scorpio jeep. Police have started probe on both the incidents. According to District Police Office Chief DSP Gyanendra Bahadur Phuyal, it has been heard the sounds of firing and some boulders were released down from the hill top. Three of the suspects have been arrested.
Nepal is going to hold Parliamentary and Provincial polls on November 26 and December 7 that has been protested by Nepal Communist Party Maoist led by Netra Bikram Chand Biplav.
