Pokhara—The Beni-Jomsom road came into operation after six days on Monday as it was obstructed by dry landslide at Kavre cliff of Annapurna Rural Municipality- 3 of Myagdi district since last Tuesday.
The 76 km long road is one of the sections of popular Annapurna Trekking and the road also connects famous Muktinath Temple which is a sacred place for both Hindus and Buddhists.
According to Myagdi Chief District Officer Krishna Prasad Adhikari, the obstruction was cleared by Beni-Jomsom-Korala Road Project, road contractor’s company, Nepali Army and Nepal Police. Project supervisor Indra Singh Sherchan informed that the road has been facing disturbance due to landslide time to time.
Two excavators of Road Division were used and detonators were applied to clear the road. Now the vehicular movement is going on in the road.
