Nepal qualified for ACC U-19 Cup

Kualalumpur– Nepal U-19 cricket team thrashed the host Malaysia by 10 wickets to reach the final of ACC U-19 Eastern Region Cricket Tournament on Saturday. Nepal has been qualified for the Asia Cup following this victory.

Nepal won the toss and chose to bat first; limited Malaysia to 121 runs in 42 overs of the allotted 50 overs.In reply, Nepal chased the target of 122 playing 23.1 overs. Nepal’s Aasif Seikh and Sandeep Sunar scored 50 and 51 runs respectively.

Nalin De Silva contributed highest 39 runs for Malaysia while Captain Biran Dip Singh scored 24 runs. With the perfect batting, Nepal’s opener duo Sandeep Sunar and Asif Shekh took Nepal to the 10-wicket victory.

Sandeep scored 51 of 77 balls hitting eight fours while Asif scored 50 off 65 balls hitting one six and eight fours. Dipendra Singh Aire of Nepal took five wickets and Pawan Sarraf toppled two wickets.

Similarly, Rohit Kumar Paudel, Sahab Alam and Sandeep Lamichhane took one wicket each.Thee ACC U-19 Asia Cup to be held in Malaysia in November.
