Pokhara—The 6th City REBAN Food Festival is to be organized from September 18 to 27 at Pokhara Exhibition Center (PEC) in Pokhara. Festival organizer City REBAN Pokhara has organized a press meet at PEC today to inform about the preparation of the event that offers Rs 70 for common ticket and Rs 45 for student ticket for entry propose.
According to City REBAN General Secretary and publicity committee coordinator Jeevan Dahal, folk and duet songs from national and local level artistes, pop concerts, comedians’ show, housewife solo dance competition (24-40 years), Rateuli song competition, Dhido eating and rooster capturing competition are some of the major attractions of the festival. Children Park, mountain goats’ exhibition and Nava Doorga Pooja also are the parts of the festival that would be coordinated by Pitambar Paudel. A total of 125- business, restaurants, foods and social service related stalls would be installed in the festival, informed City REBAN acting chairman Dipak Timisina.
Folk singers- Prajapati Parajuli, Purushottam Neupane, Komal Oli, Badri Pangeni, Pashupati Sharma, Ramji Khad, Raju Gurung, Sharmila Gurung, Devi Gharti Magar and Jyoti Magar will perform during the festival. Likewise, comedian units Jire Khursani, Meri Bassai and the team of Raja Rajenera would also be the parts of festival. Singer Hemanta Sharma will also perform in the show.
Cultural dances like Kaura, Chhadu, Tharu, Newari, Kumari including Durga songs are scheduled to perform in the festival. Organizer committee expects to save around 0.6 million rupees from the festival income that would be donated for tourism promotion (5%), natural disaster victims (5%) and helpless children (5%), informed City REBAN former Chairman KP Sharma.
