Nepal Army dispose cylinder bomb in Pokhara

Pokhara—A team of Nepal Army has disposed a cylinder bomb put by an unidentified group at Prithvi Chowk of Pokhara on Monday.The bomb was planted in then Sasto Bazar which was closed few days ago over the rent disputes.

Local people informed police as they saw a cylinder in the west part of the bazaar this morning. Following the information, a team of Baidam police reached to the site and the team informed Army about the case. But later, a technical team from Kalibhanjan Batalion of Nepal Army disposed the bomb, informed DSP Khadka Bahadur Khatri of District Police Office Kaski spokesperson.

According to Western Regional Police Office Pokhara, the wires were seemed to be connected between cylinder like bomb and sets of batteries but the army team disconnected the wiring and carried the cylinder bomb to their office. Police is searching the person who planted the bomb in then vegetable and garment bazaar. Who and why this bomb was placed is still unknown but the investigation is undergoing, informed DPO Kaski Chief SP Ashok Singh.

The bazaar land belongs to Nepal Airlines and there is undergoing the construction work to build business shutters now. This task was started following the closure of then bazaar. Some 217 businessmen had been running the then bazaar but they began protest following their removal from the bazaar.
