Pokhara—Newly elected Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City (PLMC) Mayor, Deputy Mayor and ward chairpersons were sworn in Pokhara on Sunday.

They took the oath of office and secrecy from Kaski Chief Election Commissioner Nagendra Lal Karna in a special ceremony organized at District Coordination Office in Pokhara.

PLMC Mayor Man Bahadur GC, Deputy Mayor Manju Devi Gurung including ward chairpersons took charge of the offices following their swearing in. A total of 167 representatives of ward number 1 to 33 including Mayor and Deputy Mayor took part in swearing in ceremony. Ward members were also sworn in by Mayor GC.

Mayor GC and Deputy Mayor Gurung took the charge of office flowing their swearing in. Taking the charge of his office, Mayor GC said that he would try his best for good governance in the city.

He also signed a decision of hiking social security allowance by 10 percent for elderly people in this occasion. PLMC CEO Dirgha Narayan Paudel handed over the minute of the office to newly elected Mayor GC during the moment.
