Pokhara—Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has resigned from his post as Prime Minister of Nepal today. Addressing his countrymen from Singh Durbar, two-time PM Dahal resigned about 10 months after he took charge of his office as PM.

His resignation has been termed as the example of morality in politics as  he had clinched an understanding with Nepali Congress party and its Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba to quit after certain months. Dahal had clear majority in house, there was not filed any no trust motion against him and main opposition CPN-UML also not urging his resignation but Dahal did it as per his commitment that he had done during the time he became PM.

PM Dahal government did some important tasks like the minimization of load shedding in Nepal, satisfactory level of economic growth, decision of fast track that would build Nepal Army, signing in One Belt One Road initiative of China and organization of first phase of election. He however failed to address the problems of quake victims and also failed in the part of reconstruction in quake hit areas of Nepal.

Dahal in his address said that there should be the result oriented evolution instead of evolution based on imagination and dream. Dahal had wished to address from legislative parliament but opposition CPN-UML earlier had said that the house meeting would be obstructed if it was started. So, Dahal said that he didn’t get chance of addressing from parliament and came to people to resign from his post.
