Indian athletes win the title of Triathlon

Pokhara—Guru Dutt from India won the title of South Asian Men’s Triathlon held in Pokhara on Saturday. Guru defeated his nearest rival Dilip Kumar from India to become the champion. Basanta Tharu from Nepal secured the second runner up position.

Pallavi Retiwala from India won the title of Triathlon in women side. Sony Gurung and Roja KC from Nepal finished second and third. Likewise, Nepal Army grabbed all the prizes of 6th National Triathlon Championship.

Basanta Tharu, Himal Tamata and Rudra Katwal became first, second and third in that championship. At the same time, in women’s category, Sony Gurung from APF, Roja KC and Yam Kumari Bhujel of Nepal Army became first, second and third. They got gold, silver and bronze medals as per their position they secured.

Earlier, the event was inaugurated by Minister for Youth and Sports Daljit Sripali. Minister Sripali said that Triathlon would help Pokhara to make an international hub for adventurous sports. Triathlon is a game that includes swimming, cycling and running in a package.
