Subash Gurung wins the title of 7th Big Icon

Pokhara—Subah Gurung from Saineek Basti of Lekhnath- Kaski won the title of 7th Big Icon in Pokhara on Friday. Defeating his two rivals in a final battle held in Pokhara City Hall this afternoon, Gurung received the Yamaha Scooter worth rupees 175,000 as prize.

Gurung is the same person who had been disqualified in the first round of first Big Icon however has been taking part in every series of that show for this one. He also got the chance of musical tour to UK. Likewise, Sagar Aale from Chitwan Patihani became first runner up, while Priya Gurung from Sangam Tol of Pokhara got the prize of 2nd runner up.

I am feeling like I have won the whole world, Subash told the crowd as he declared as Big Icon in city hall. Former BBC Nepali Chief and Sajha Party mastermind Rabindra Mishra distributed the prizes to the winners of the competition.

Chief Guest Mishra Shaid that the Subash’s triumph as Big Icon showed that the example of continues hard work that really matters. Big Icon host Big FM has handed over Rs 52,000 to Pokhara Chamber of Commerce of Industry for its mission of reducing the number of child labor in Pokhara.

Besides top three, all the top ten contestants of the Big Icon also performed during the grand finale. The competition was mainly based on voting by audiences and the judging by Samsung Tamang and Bivek Shrestha. Big FM Chairman Mahesh Bhandari thanked to all who supported Big Icon to make a grand success.
