By Rup Narayan Dhakal—Pokhara: Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) and Armed Police Force (APF) have clinched the title of Srijana Invited International Volleyball Tournament in Pokhara on Saturday.
TAC outplayed Nepal Police Club (NPC) 3-1 in a final match held in the court of Pokhara Stadium today. TAC beat NPC 25-21, 21-25, 27-25 and 25-13 to win the third title of this season within the period of 1.5 month. TAC had won the gold medal in 7th National Games and the title of Chief of Army Staff Cup.
Likewise, APF women team defeated New Diamond Academy (NDA) to clinch the title. APF defeated NDA 25-18, 25-14, 18-25 and 25-15. Winners TAC and APF bagged RS 155,555, while first runner up NPC and NDA bagged Rs 77,777 each respectively. Earlier on Friday, Western Regional Volleyball Association (WRVA ) had finished third position on men’s and women’s side to bag Rs 33,333.
APF player Saraswati Chaudhari and TAC player Dhan Bahadur Bhatta was declared best players in women and men side respectively. They got Rs 10,000 each. Meanwhile, Kul Bahadur Thapa of NPC in best spiker, Im Rana of NPC in best setter, Shamsher Bahadur Chand of NPC in best libero, Hari Adhikari of TAC in best blocker and Man Bahdur Shrestha of TAC in best server also got their prizes.
Likewise, on women side, Pratibha Mali of NDA in best spiker, Kripa Adhikari of NDA in best setter, Salina Shrestha of NDA in best libero, Lalita Nath of NDA in best blocker and Reshma Bhandari of APF in best server were also given their respective prizes. They all got Rs 5,000 each.
National Sports Council Member Secretary Keshav Kumar Bista, APF Chief Durja Kumar Rai, Host WRVA Chairman Khaga Raj Paudel, Kaski District Sports Development Committee Chairman Yam Bahadur Gurung including other guests distributed the prize money in the concluding ceremony of tournament sponsored by Srijana Bikash Kendra.
